What Participants Say

In their own words

Rachel Ng

Marketing Manager · Toa Payoh

I joined the Financial Awareness Workshop not quite knowing what to expect. What struck me was how the facilitator handled questions — nothing was treated as obvious or beneath explanation. I left with a spending framework I've actually maintained since.

The Applied Investment Thinking programme completely changed how I read financial news. The portfolio simulation was genuinely useful — being able to test ideas without real stakes helped me understand risk-return dynamics in a way that theory alone couldn't.

Business Owner · Clementi

The Lifetime Architecture programme was the most thorough financial education I've encountered. The two private advisory sessions were particularly valuable — not because someone told me what to do, but because they helped me think through the decision framework myself.

I appreciated that no one tried to steer me toward any particular product. The CPF content in the workshop gave me clarity on areas I'd been confused about for years. The session pace was well-managed — nothing felt rushed. I would have liked slightly more time on the insurance section.

Even with a finance background, I found the investment thinking programme worthwhile. The framing around decision habits and cognitive biases in financial contexts was something my professional training hadn't addressed. The group discussions were consistently substantive.

My wife and I attended the Lifetime Architecture programme together after our second child. The estate documentation section was something we'd been putting off for years — the programme gave us a structure and the private sessions helped us work through our specific situation.

Learning Journeys

Three participants, three different starting points

MF

Mei Fen, 34 — Retail Professional

Financial Awareness Workshop

STARTING POINT

Mei Fen had a stable income but no clear picture of where it was going. She was saving inconsistently and felt uncertain about her CPF contributions and what they were actually for.

THROUGH THE PROGRAMME

The workshop helped her map her actual spending against her stated priorities. The CPF session clarified the three-account structure and how her OA balance could work for her in the medium term.

WHAT CHANGED

Six months on, she has a spending framework she checks monthly and a clearer sense of how her savings are structured. She's planning to join the Investment Thinking cohort next.

KR

Karthik R, 41 — Engineering Consultant

Applied Investment Thinking

STARTING POINT

Karthik had been accumulating cash savings for several years but was uncomfortable putting any of it into markets. He'd read articles and watched videos but found the information conflicting and sales-oriented.

THROUGH THE PROGRAMME

The programme's focus on decision frameworks rather than predictions helped Karthik see that uncertainty is the environment to work within, not avoid. The simulation let him observe portfolio behaviour over different time horizons without real stakes.

WHAT CHANGED

He began with a modest, diversified position three months after completing the programme and has since developed a regular review habit. The shift wasn't dramatic — it was measured, which is what he'd been looking for.

SY

Shirley & Yong, 48 & 51 — Business Partners

Lifetime Financial Architecture

STARTING POINT

As business owners, Shirley and Yong had complex finances but no unified picture of how their retirement, business succession, and estate were connected. A previous encounter with a financial adviser had felt transactional.

THROUGH THE PROGRAMME

The private sessions allowed them to work through their business structure alongside the group learning. The estate documentation module prompted them to have conversations they'd been avoiding. The facilitator guided the thinking without directing the decisions.

WHAT CHANGED

They completed their Lasting Power of Attorney documentation within two months of the programme and revised their business ownership structure with clearer retirement intent. The 6-month session helped them review progress against the blueprint.
